It is mid summer, and we've had some outstanding events including Father's Day and Car Show; July 4 with some of my favorite Presidents: Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, and FDR giving speeches off our Business Car No. 9; and last weekend, the party celebrating the birthdays of Locmotives Nos. 491 and 346, complete with cake.  This weekend it's all about dinosaurs with our popular Dinosaur Express Train event.  

Next month, plan to stop by on August 29 and 30 for The Great Train Robbery!  Check our events page for more information! 

There's been a lot of activity in the Roundhouse and on the grounds.  We continue to prepare for Day Out With Thomas with new rider cars, Locomotive no. 491 will soon have a new boiler jacket, our new pavilion is in use, and we moved a railcar last week.  Whew!

July also marks America’s 239th birthday. We’ll commemorate this history by recreating famous whistle-stop campaign speeches, performed by professional actors on the platform of a vintage passenger coach. Hear the echoes of Theodore Roosevelt, Abraham Lincoln and FDR as we recreate their campaign speeches on the railroad at 11:00AM, 12:00PM & 1:00 PM.
