Welcome     Grow     Serve    Celebrate

Tonight:
We hope you will join us for our Ash Wednesday service at 6:00 pm as we enter the Lenten season to begin our 40 day journey of Lent in preparation of Easter. On Ash Wednesday, we confront our own mortality and confess our individual and collective sin before God and our Christian community. The ashes, smeared on the forehead in the sign of the cross, are a symbol of mortality and repentance as we acknowledge the brokenness that still exists. We will offer a brief service of scripture, song, and prayer.
Next Wednesday, February 25:
Meal at 5:45 followed by activities for all ages at 6:20. Adults: Book Club chapters 1-7
Youth: Homework Night
Bridge: Mission Night
Kids: "Dive into Lent"
Please reserve your spot by noon Monday by calling the church office, tearing off the slip on the bulletin, or by clicking this link.

Recently we celebrated 30 years of ministry at Parkway Hills UMC. Thirty years of worship, small groups, service, and celebratory meals together. Unfortunately, with such milestone moments, comes needed building repair and maintenance. As we prepared our 2026 budget, we included $60,000 to aid with repairing the steeples in both our buildings. This is in addition to $30,000 budgeted for routine building and maintenance needs that arise throughout the year. We know this will require some extra fundraising throughout the year so as not to run a deficit budget. With your help, through an estimate of giving towards the 2026 budget, a gift toward building projects, or both, we can achieve our goal, make our needed building repairs, and fully fund our 2026 budget.
We have two asks:
      1) Prayerfully discern a 2026 estimate of giving toward the mission and ministry of
Parkway Hills and return your card by Sunday, March 8 to aid us in projecting,
financially, how 2026 will look. Cards were mailed this week and are also available at the church.
      2) As you feel led and are able throughout the year, make an additional gift to “Building Projects” to aid with our Porte Cochere and Steeple Repair. You may do so online, through our Vanco mobile app, or with cash or check marked “Building Projects.”
If you have any questions, do not hesitate to reach out to any member of our Leadership Board or staff. We give thanks for the generosity of our church family over the past few years enabling us to accomplish so many things in areas of mission, faith development, and building improvement.
We do best the things we do together!

This Saturday, February 21, two opportunities to connect!

Women's Ministry Book Swap Saturday, February 21 10:00 am to Noon
Grab a book to swap, bring a snack to share, and come enjoy fellowship with your PHUMC friends. We will gather at the home of Monique Henderson. Not a book person? We've had others show up with a gift card to play along and join in the fun so who knows what you will take home!
*Optional: Bring an extra paperback book of a popular author to donate to Big House Books. No romance please.

Our Men's Ministry will be meeting up at Sacred Ground BBQ located at 1052 Pocahontas Road at 11:00 am to fellowship and enjoy good food.  Never been to a Men's Ministry event? Well, we hope to see you at this one! New to the church? This would be a great way to connect.  If you have any questions, reach out to Phillips King.

The goal of our Women's and Men's Ministries is to provide opportunities for creating community within our church and to reflect on ways we can serve our community.  If you have something in mind for either of these groups, let Pastor Dawn know.
Thursdays at 10:00 am during the Lenten season, join Pastor Dawn in room 201 upstairs in the Education Building.  We will begin Thursday, February 26 and go through Thursday, March 26.  Each week we will take a closer look at the Gospel passage from the previous Sunday.  Hope to see you there!
Parkway Hills Open Mic Night Wedneday, March 18 as part of our Wednesday Re:treat.
We have some very talented members and some quasi-talented ones, and we want everyone to participate. All skill levels welcome, so bring your music, poetry, storytelling, jokes and art, and we will see you there!
Contact Branden Henry for more information and/or to participate.
Because the Beds for Kids Ministry supplied her with her own bed, a teenager named Brinka in Hattiesburg  was able to move into her foster home on February 11. Beds for Kids thanks TOMBS, PHUMC, and a community partner in Hattiesburg for helping us serve this child on short notice.
Wednesday Nights January 28 - March 4 our kids are learning all about the season of Lent. We hope to see you there as our children engage with the Christian year and learn more about the story of which they are a part. Reminder: Meal at 5:45 pm followed by activites at 6:20.
We always need volunteers to aid with our kids' ministry. For more information about any of our kids' ministry events contact Jennifer.
*All volunteers must submit a background check before volunteering with children and youth.
