Greetings from Dean Budikova
Greetings! It is with great pleasure that I extend a warm welcome to you all. As we anticipate this year’s Giving Blueday, I want to express our deep appreciation for your continued support and dedication to our success. Your contributions have a profound impact on the lives of our students and the faculty who educate them. For those yet to give, I encourage you to consider joining us in this endeavor to support our community.

As I embark on my ninth month as Dean, I am filled with gratitude for the opportunity to serve in this role. Our focus remains steadfast on ensuring our academic offerings and student experiences are dynamic and responsive to their evolving needs. Through the diligent efforts of our faculty and staff, coupled with the unwavering support from our cherished alumni and friends, we continue to provide a nurturing environment where students are able thrive and improve their lives. Looking ahead, we eagerly anticipate our upcoming winter graduation ceremony, where we will celebrate the achievements of our newest graduates.

The summer promises to be vibrant with exciting study abroad and other summer programs, as well as many faculty-led student research experiences, planned. Our faculty continue building our scholarly enterprise, fostering innovation, and advancing knowledge in their fields. Once again, I extend my heartfelt thanks to each one of you for your commitment to the success of CASL. Together, we will continue to inspire and empower the next generation of leaders.

CASL Annual Fund Gifts Change Lives
The College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters recognizes that the undergraduate student experience is about more than choosing a major and taking classes. So we provide hands-on experiences to undergraduates — seminars, engaging programs, and community experiences that go beyond or expand upon academic majors. These experiences are known as High-Impact Practices and result in more successful outcomes for the students who engage with them.

This year, your gift to the CASL Annual Fund will provide direct support to CASL students participating in high-impact practices such as student research and Practice-Based Learning initiatives.

Gifts to the CASL Annual Fund provide opportunities for students to experience a variety of programs!

On Saturday December 16th, 684 degrees were awarded to the newest alumni class of UM-Dearborn Wolverines. CASL alumnus Bill Anaya, a 1993 graduate who has worked in the White House along with Motorola and the Alibaba group, served as keynote speaker. Anaya spoke about how attending and graduating college seemed out of reach for him, however the internships and caring mentors through UM-Dearborn made the difference in his life. Read Anaya's speech it its entirety here.
