Howdy New Aggie Family Member,
New Student & Family Programs is here to make your student's transition to Texas A&M University a great experience! We look forward to formally greeting you during your student's New Student Conference (NSC).
Between now and your NSC, our office will be sending more communication. It is crucial that your student check their Texas A&M University email regularly in order to ensure they have met all of the university's requirements for orientation before their NSC.

THINGS TO DO BEFORE YOUR NSC
There are many action items to take care of before your student attends their NSC. Details on some of those items can be found below. Taking care of these prior to arrival will ensure the smoothest NSC experience! Learn more about registration holds by visiting the Aggie One Stop website.
As you prepare for the NSC, we know that you may have some questions about what to expect. We are here to help!
Please join us for one of our webinars so that you can hear from the office of New Student & Family Programs and learn about what your NSC experience will look like!
Webinar dates and registration links can be found on the New Aggie website.

Receiving this email means that you are already registered for your student's NSC. If you need to register additional guests, your student can do so through the Applicant Information System (AIS). Onsite registration will be available on Day 1 of your student's NSC.
Bringing a family member/guest is not required but highly encouraged.

| Bacterial Meningitis Immunization
Your student will need to upload proof of vaccination against bacterial meningitis to MedProctor. If their current bacterial meningitis vaccination was administered prior to August 21, 2018, they will need to acquire a new vaccination. The meningitis deficiency hold will prevent them from checking in to their NSC and registering for classes, so it is imperative they fulfill this requirement as soon as possible and at least two weeks prior to arriving at your NSC.

| In order to ensure a smooth class registration, make sure that your student takes care of any holds on their account prior to NSC.
Important holds include (but are not limited to) Bacterial Meningitis, Texas Success Initiative, and Online Orientation.
Your student can use the checklist in the AIS portal to keep track of their holds and Pre-NSC requirements.
They can also check their Howdy Portal for holds that will prevent them from registering for classes.

Our next email will include more information about the Pre-NSC webinars, what to do for your student's Aggie ID card, and how your student can change their major. If you miss any of our communication, please refer to the archive page on our New Aggie website.

Prior to your NSC your student will be able to customize their schedule for the afternoon of Day 1. Breakout Sessions allow them to choose from a selection of sessions that interest them. Guests will attend sessions their student has signed up for. Session Selection will open in mid-May.
All incoming students are required to complete Online Orientation before their NSC. Online Orientation will open up in early May. This is a registration hold and if not completed, will prevent your student from registering for courses during their NSC.

Frequently Asked Questions |
Can I change my New Student Conference Date?
You are required to attend the conference date for which you are registered. Students are not allowed to participate in a conference they are not registered for in advance. You can change your conference date as long as dates are available on the NSC registration website, accessible through the Applicant Information System (AIS). As conferences are filled, they are removed from the site and are no longer available due to capacity limits.
Students will not be forced into conferences to accommodate changes in their personal schedule due to work conflicts or travel. Appeals to change into a restricted or full conference are only granted for military orders, medical emergencies or extreme extenuating circumstances which students can substantiate with written documentation.
Appeals are submitted online via AIS by going to the “Contact Us” tab, clicking “Ask A Question,” selecting a subject type of “NSC Appeal” and completing the required fields.
