Highlights from Doctors' Day on the Hill

Doctors' Day on the Hill was a great success this year! Nashville Academy of Medicine (NAM) had strong representation from our physician members advocating on behalf of the profession and the patients served in our state.
NAM members connected directly with legislators, shared perspectives from the front lines of healthcare in our community, and helped elevate key issues impacting medical practice in Tennessee.
Thank you to everyone who participated and represented NAM so well!

NAM's Own Board Member, Dr. George R. "Trey" Lee, III Voted TMA President-Elect!

George R. “Trey” Lee, III, MD, a Neurologist and founder of Real Time Neuromonitoring Associates in Nashville, is the President-Elect of the Tennessee Medical Association (TMA) following a February election among its 10,000 members.

Dr. Lee will serve one year as President-Elect, one year as President and one year as Immediate Past President. His primary role is to serve as the face of the organization and spokesman for TMA with its membership, the media, government officials and the citizens of Tennessee. His formal installation will take place at TMA’s annual meeting in 2027. Dr. Lee has served on the TMA Board of Trustees for two years. He was named Speaker of the House of Delegates in 2025 and will serve in that role again at the association’s Annual Meeting in May.

Thank You to Our Amazing Physician Volunteers!

During National Volunteer Month, we extend a heartfelt thank you to our physician volunteers!
These dedicated doctors support our mission by serving on the Nashville Academy of Medicine and Medical Foundation Boards, committees and work groups, and as delegates to the TMA House of Delegates. And more than 2,300 physicians have volunteered through Project Access Nashville to provide care for our low-income, uninsured neighbors. Your efforts save lives and continue to make Tennessee a great place to practice medicine.

Thank you, Doctors!
