LONGVIEW PUBLIC LIBRARY NEWSLETTER
To Our Library Patrons,
Like many of you, we learned late Tuesday about the new guidelines from the governor's office for partially reopening libraries in Phase 2. We understand that many of you are excited to come back as soon as possible, and we're looking forward to keep expanding the services we can offer you.
Right now, we are working as quickly and thoughtfully as possible to meet the guidelines and safely reopen at 25% capacity. At the same time, we want to continue to offer the services we've been providing the past six months, including phone and email assistance, virtual programs, and drive-thru service. Doing both with our limited staff and space is the challenge we'll be tackling in the next few weeks.
We are now aiming for a November reopening date. When library doors open you can also expect modifications to drive-thru service procedures such as open hours, loan periods, and wait time. We will keep you infomed as those decisions are made.
If you have interest in learning about the guidelines we are working with, you can read them here: governor.wa.gov
