Tara Mina Awarded Best Presentation for Lunar PNT at Institute of Navigation (ION) |
Dr. Tara Mina (RE-II in GT's Space Exploration Analysis Lab) was awarded the “Best Presentation” for the Institute of Navigation (ION) GNSS+ Lunar Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) session.
The paper entitled “Preliminary Navigation System Design for the First LCRNS Satellite Providing Lunar PNT Services” is a collaboration between Georgia Tech, Intuitive Machines (IM), and KinetX Aerospace.
Mina has been leading John Christian's, Associate Chair for Graduate Programs, group’s collaboration with IM to help design the onboard navigation framework for the LCRNS—which will be the United States’ “GPS at the Moon”—with the first satellite in the constellation scheduled for launch in October 2026.
