Youth Empowerment in 2076 Contest |
Imagine it’s the year 2076—America’s 300th birthday. What role do young people play? What does it look like when youth are truly heard, leading, and making change?
We want your vision.
Using AI, illustrate what you envision youth empowerment will look like 50 years (2076) from now.
Contest Objectives:
- Practice responsible and safe use of AI
-
Think critically about youth empowerment and generative AI
- Represent youth’s role in America’s 250 years of history
- Promote Sparks and innovation
Definition of Youth Empowerment:
4-H Youth Development empowers young people to use their voice while working in partnership with adults to positively impact their communities. Youth Empowerment is where youth practice leadership skills while exploring important issues in their communities and making informed decisions with adults. Youth empowerment is all about using your voice, building leadership skills, and making a difference; right now and into the future. It’s young people working alongside adults to create positive change in their communities.
Think big. Think bold. Think about the future YOU.
Ask yourself:
- What does it look like when someone is truly involved in their community?
-
How can young people take action and be civically engaged?
- What problems are youth solving in 2076?
- How are youth leading, speaking up, and creating change?
- Open to youth in grades 6-13
-
Use AI generated images or visual art created by youth that will be shared on social media. Recommended AI tools include: Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini or AI in Canva.
- Submit a photography of yourself along with your AI generated image or visual art piece
- Provide an AI prompt and reflection (3-4 sentences)
- What AI tool did you use?
-
What AI prompt did you write and what iterations (changes) did you make to your final prompt?
- Description of AI image or visual art that explains critical thinking about youth empowerment in 2076 (3-4 sentences)
- Review Wisconsin 4-H Positive Youth Development Institute AI Guidelines (listed below)
- Entries will judged on their ability to meet the contest objectives
Contest Submission Deadline: June 5, 2026
Contest Awards: $250 worth of gift card prizes. Five $50.00 gift card prizes will be disbursed to contest winners.
| |
AI use is optional. This contest offers a safe, creative opportunity for youth who already use AI tools to explore ideas and artistic expression. The focus remains on youth voice, critical thinking, and responsible decision‑making.
