Definition of Youth Empowerment:
4-H Youth Development empowers young people to use their voice while working in partnership with adults to positively impact their communities. Youth Empowerment is where youth practice leadership skills while exploring important issues in their communities and making informed decisions with adults. Youth empowerment is all about using your voice, building leadership skills, and making a difference; right now and into the future. It’s young people working alongside adults to create positive change in their communities.
Think big. Think bold. Think about the future YOU.
Ask yourself:
|
- What does it look like when someone is truly involved in their community?
-
How can young people take action and be civically engaged?
- What problems are youth solving in 2076?
- How are youth leading, speaking up, and creating change?
