Master of Public Administration student Krissy Strode Warren has been named CSUB’s recipient of the CSU Trustees’ Award for Outstanding Achievement, the CSU’s highest student honor. She co-founded a charter school rooted in equity-based education and has dedicated her life to advocating for marginalized communities—all while maintaining a 4.0 GPA. Krissy’s daughter, Olivia, also holds an MPA degree from CSUB.
Dr. Chandra Commuri, Professor of Public Administration and Director of the MPA program, shares: “I am very proud of Krissy for winning this award. Krissy brings a commitment to public service values, and I am confident that she will contribute in big ways to our community.”
He adds, “One of the joys of my work is that I get to celebrate the academic and career accomplishments of parents and children as they pass through CSUB. I am happy that Krissy and her family have considered CSUB to be their university."
