Welcome     Grow     Serve    Celebrate

                                                  August 20, 2025
We hope you will join us for our annual women's ministry planning meeting tomorrow evening, Thursday, August 21, at 6:00 pm at Newk's on Highland Colony. The goal of the women's ministry at Parkway Hills UMC is to provide opportunities for creating community for the women of the church as well as reflect on what the women of the church can offer the Madison County community. Our Enneagram retreat is just one example of what came out of last year's planning meeting. All are welcome to come and join in the conversation, offer ideas, or just listen. Can't make the meeting but have an idea of how to create community or serve our community?

Recently a church member approached Pastor Dawn with the desire to make a monetary gift that would aid Parkway Hills in accomplishing a project that may not otherwise be possible at this point in time. The two discussed several options, and a plan was presented to the Leadership Board and was also a topic of discussion at the May Mission and Ministry night gathering. After deliberation with laity members, it has been decided that these funds will go towards the construction of a porte cochere, a covered drop-off area outside the worship center. This was in the original plans for the worship center building but was one of the things cut to stay on budget at the time.
While the construction of this new build is not projected to begin until the summer of 2026, deliberation and preparation with logistics, planning, and design will begin in the next few months.
With that being said, the architect working on the project, Mr. Joseph Orr, will be with us this Sunday, August 24th and will host a brief meeting following Worship to share the plans as well as answer any questions.

This project will be joined together with other crucial maintenance and building repair regarding some windows and our steeples.  We hope to provide a timeline of the projects soon as well as information about how you can give to support this work...because while I firmly believe that the church IS the people, the walls and roof are important parts, too.

Please make plans to attend the meeting Sunday, August 24, following worship to meet the architect and see the plans.  Remember, we do best the things we do together.

Beds for Kids
Monday of this week five more beds were delivered to children in Canton. The thirteen men pictured delivered and assembled the beds, making a total of 22 beds delivered in August so far.
The dream of Beds for Kids Ministry is that every child has his or her own bed. This year the ministry has expanded to include other churches in the Madison area to help with funding, building, and delivering the beds, fully outfitted with new mattresses, pillows, and linens.
If you would like to help with the Beds for Kids Ministry, contact Cindy Karlson or Bill Flynn.
