Lilly Conference Registration Opening in Mid-August 
Registration for the Original Lilly Conference on College Teaching will open in mid-August. Watch the CTE Weekly for an announcement.
Viewing Our Students Through a Trauma Lens
Trauma, an event or experience of physical and/or emotional harm, may cause students to suffer academically and socially. Learn how wearing “Trauma Glasses” can help instructors recognize when students are displaying symptoms of traumatic experiences in order to support them. 
Promoting Empathy in Research Mentoring
Empathy is an important component of effective learning environments, including mentoring relationships such as faculty-student research. The authors of this Faculty Focus article recommend five ways to promote empathy through PEACE (Preparation, Expertise, Authenticity, Caring, and Engagement) when mentoring students in research labs.

Meet the New Regionals CTL Leaders
The Miami University Regionals Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) will resume its work under new leadership beginning in fall 2022. Britt Cole, Nursing, and Leah Henson, Languages, Literature & Writing, have been named co-coordinators of the CTL.
