Church-Wide Lunch and Celebration this Sunday:
                                                                                                           June 28, 2017
This Sunday: ONLY ONE COMBINED WORSHIP SERVICE AT 10:00 am!
Dress casually, and come celebrate the beginning of a new chapter in the PHUMC book!
Reverend Flowers will lead our worship this Sunday at 10:00 am.  Afterwards, stay for a picnic-style dinner on the grounds and we will begin to introduce ourselves. Louise Johnson and her kitchen crew are preparing a great lunch for us with fried chicken, hamburgers, pizza and plenty of sides for all to enjoy. We ask that you bring a dessert. (Any sweets will be fine - but, in keeping with our July 4th picnic theme - consider a freezer of homemade ice cream!)  Bring a lawn chair or blanket, find a shady spot on our beautiful campus, and join us as we continue to welcome, grow, serve and celebrate in ministry with the Flowers Family.
(No Sunday School this week, but nursery will be available during the service and the lunch.)

Costa Rica Update

Our Youth Mission Team is having a soul-changing week in Costa Rica. Worship, construction projects, VBS sessions, serving meals, children's activities... the list is long and this group has been involved in extraordinary ways! Please follow their journey on the Facebook page they have set up:  Parkway Hills Costa Rica Trip.  Continue praying for these 24 team members who will return home early Sunday morning with a new understanding of being the hands and feet of Jesus.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!  My family and I have received grace upon grace these first couple of weeks in Madison. Many of you have brought us wonderful meals and snacks, many have given us gift cards and the gift of leaving our boxes for a bit to sit at table together as a family; others helped us move in, worked in our yard, or simply dropped in for a visit. I even received a beautiful quilt from the Prayer Quilt Ministry that has special meaning for me. The love is literally pouring out of this church!!
I look forward to getting to know my new church family and am excited about all that we shall share together as we walk this journey of faith together. Throughout July, I will be preaching on some of my favorite portions of scripture so that you may get to know me, and hear a little of my understanding of God and how God's Word speaks to me. If you would like to read ahead (or read later), these are the passages for each week:
July 2: Psalm 104
July 9: Mark 5:21-34
•July 16: Isaiah 6
•July 23: Psalm 73
•July 30: Romans 8:31-39
Again, thank you for opening your hearts to us and for holding my family in prayer during this time of transition.  I am overwhelmed!
Peace in Christ,
Dawn
