Fall semester to begin on campus two weeks early

The University will welcome students back to campus for the 2020-21 fall semester the week of Aug. 10, two weeks earlier than scheduled. University president, Rev. John I. Jenkins, C.S.C., made the announcement in emails to the campus community on Monday. (More...)

Basilica to reopen for public Masses on Sunday

Notre Dame hosts degree conferral ceremony

The University hosted its first virtual degree conferral ceremony on Sunday, May 17, the day commencement had been scheduled(Watch it or read about it.) Due to the coronavirus pandemic, commencement for the Class of 2020 is postponed to Memorial Day weekend 2021.

Degree conferral successful thanks to teamwork

Much of what it took to pull off the virtual experience was accomplished by faculty and staff working remotely, received by a class spread around the world, again demonstrating "Notre Dame is still a community, even when we are far apart." (See photo gallery.)

The Notre Dame "buff" yellow brick is legend. And its value goes beyond its history. Whenever original brick can be recovered, it's cleaned, stacked and locked away for safekeeping, according to Tony Polotto, director of construction and quality assurance.
