Some of the most valuable things I’ve learned didn’t come from my work directly. They came from paying attention to what interested me—reading, exploring ideas, noticing patterns, following questions that didn’t have an immediate application.
Over time, those interests have shaped how I think, how I see, and ultimately how I work.
In marketing—and especially in fundraising work, where attention is limited and trust matters—how we see often matters as much as what we say. What we bring to the work matters.

P.S. Spring break is a good time to follow something that simply interests you. You may be surprised what it gives back.
