Here is more great information to help you prepare to arrive on campus! This week you will receive an email regarding New Student Orientation. Be sure to check your AU email regularly for important information on what to know and what to do over the next few weeks.

📍Monitor your AU emails for welcome email with a preview of Orientation, which begins in just a few weeks. Make sure to take your time in reading through that email; it contains a lot of important details for you —both leading up to and during the orientation program.

📍Did you forget your photo was due for your AU OneCard? Your OneCard is your room key, meal plan, and printing. It is your key to everything, AU! There is still time to skip the line! Get it in by August 5th to be entered for a drawing for a $50.00 gift card to Campus Store or Beats headphones!

| Duo Mobile: Multifactor Authentication (MFA)
|
📱 Duo Mobile is American University's chosen multifactor authentication app to help secure account holders from unauthorized access to their accounts and account data. AU requires use of MFA for all AU systems. Click the button below to learn how to get Duo on your phone—you'll need it set up prior to arriving to campus for move-in and orientation.

💉 DC law requires that all students under the age of 26 to provide proof of the immunizations listed on the AU Mandatory Immunization Form.

Log onto your Student Health Portal
- Under the "My Forms" section, select "Immunization History" and complete the form with the dates of your vaccinations from your immunization record
- After submitting the form, select the link to upload a scanned version of your immunization history signed by your medical provider
|
Students will receive a secure message in their portal within approximately five business days.
Students who do not complete this requirement will be able to attend classes, but registration for future semesters will be denied until the requirement is met.

| REQUIRED: Summer Reading for College Writing Course
|
📖 If you have not already done so, don't forget to pick up a copy of Against Technoableism. This is required summer reading for your College Writing course, a first-semester class that all first-year students must participate in.

| Apply for the Emerging Eagles Leadership Program |
📒 This is your last opportunity to apply for American University’s Emerging Eagles Leadership Program—the application closes this Wednesday, July 31. Tailored for first-year students but open to all who are interested in exploring their leadership potential or aspiring to be change makers, this program empowers you through leadership development, mentorship, and community engagement.

💰 Your first tuition bill is due this Thursday, August 1 and can be viewed in your student portal on EagleService. Learn how to access your bill (including an itemized list of all tuition, mandatory fees, and financial aid) by clicking the button below.
Proxies and FERPA
Don't forget that you can also add proxies to your student account. Adding a proxy provides family members access to view/pay your bill and access to your educational record, but the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) gives you the ability to control who has access to what parts of your student record. Learn more about FERPA here.

👋 Registration for the Summer Send-Off series is now open! Meet other new Eagles even before you get to campus during our Summer Send-Off series! Hosted by the Office of Alumni Relations, the AU Summer Send-Offs are in-person social gatherings to help welcome the Class of 2028 to the AU community.
