In August, the College of Pharmacy celebrated its new student pharmacists with the White Coat Ceremony and reception. On its first day of classes, on Aug. 12, the college gathered on the steps of Burton Health Sciences Center for a season of prayer. Later that day students enjoyed a Back to School Lunch and a Career Fair. Highlights of other activities coming up this semester include:
September: Participating in the Sickle Cell Cycle 5K, a tamale festival, serving at the Lake Providence Missionary Baptist Church Health Fair, hosting Flulapalooza
October: Celebrating American Pharmacist Month, participating in the Komen More Than Pink Walk, administering flu immunizations at Bison Flu Fest, Fight the Flu Event with the Tennessee Department of Health, the Greater Christ Temple Church Health Fair, JDRF Walk. The college will also launch its inaugural Student Pharmacist Involvement Giving Campaign.
