Dear Partner in Ministry,

This fall at GPC marks an important season of discernment and momentum as we look toward celebrating 250 years of ministry in 2030. In June the Session approved moving forward with a capital campaign for GPC to mark its 250th anniversary, with the goal of strengthening our ministries, our congregation, and our building for today and years to come.

The Session formed two committees to guide this work: the GPC 250 Capital Campaign Committee and the Building Advisory Committee. You can find the members of each committee listed below. Both committees have been hard at work listening to members of the congregation about your hopes and priorities as we lay the foundation for this campaign.

FGM Architects—an experienced firm in both church and historic property design—was engaged earlier this year to help us envision how our building might evolve to support GPC’s ministries while preserving its historic character. Thank you to everyone who participated in the Ministry Facility Survey and the focus groups with FGMA over the summer! Your feedback has been invaluable as the Building Advisory Committee continues to shape renovation concepts that reflect the congregation’s hopes and priorities. We look forward to sharing plans and renderings once they are ready.

The capital campaign, however, is about much more than bricks and mortar—it’s about discerning who God is calling GPC to be in the next chapter of our life together. Over the past few weeks, the GPC 250 Capital Campaign Committee has hosted listening sessions with various groups across the church. There are two more opportunities to join in:

We hope you’ll take part as we reflect on GPC’s Long Range Plan and consider together the ministries and mission priorities that will shape our campaign goals.

This is a joyful and important season of discernment at GPC—as we prepare for new pastoral leadership and celebrate nearly 250 years of faithful ministry. There will be many opportunities in the months ahead to lend your voice, energy, and imagination. Together, we honor the generations who came before us and prepare the way for those yet to come.

If you have questions, please reach out to anyone on the GPC 250 Capital Campaign Committee.

With gratitude and hope,
