Association Tips
Professionalism Tip: What is Professionalism?
This Professionalism Tip is provided by SWRA Staff Paula Tansey
The Merriam Webster Online Dictionary defines professionalism as "the skill, good judgment and polite behavior that is expected from a person who is trained to do a job well". What skills are required to be a good real estate professional? What is good judgment or polite behavior for a real estate professional? If these questions are asked of a room full of REALTORS, it is likely the answers will be quite varied. While the REALTOR Code of Ethics does its best to codify professionalism where it is possible and appropriate, there are still many questions to be answered.
This Friday (January 16th; 9:00am-10:30am) Suburban West will conduct its first Professionalism Exchange. At this audience-driven forum, a panel of REALTORS along with Association Council, Bill Weber, Esq. will moderate a discussion on skills, good judgment and polite behavior. This is your opportunity to raise those concerns with a group of your peers. Attendance is free but registration is required! Click here to register today as this event is likely to sell out. This event is generously sponsored by Brandywine Staging: Kathy Kosciewicz.

In addition to the regular meetings on the first Wednesday of each month, the Board will meet on the third Wednesday from January-April and in September and October. New ordinances will ultimately be put in an electronic format that can be searched online. The work is expected to take a year and a half, concluding with public hearings to adopt the new ordinances. Click here to read more.
