During our most recent WWAD at the Como Community Center, we were joined by Dr. Cynthia Jones from the Ft. Worth Humane Society. She spoke to our senior participants about the numerous health benefits of pet ownership, including both physical and mental advantages. Recognizing the challenges seniors face in affording veterinary care, the Ft. Worth Humane Society offers the "Rae of Hope" program. This initiative provides free basic preventative care—such as vaccines, microchipping, flea & tick treatment, and heartworm testing—to help seniors keep their beloved pets. Evelyn's Creativity Lab Workshops |
Evelyn's Creativity Lab is more than just a place to create; it's a community where seniors come together to share ideas, inspire each other, and forge lasting friendships. This October, our Halloween projects have provided the perfect backdrop for fostering these connections, as participants collaborate and support one another in their creative endeavors.

GM Financial: Giving the Gift of Warmth |
|
|
| This year, we are thrilled to share that our agency received over 200 beautifully crafted quilts and blankets, lovingly made by the talented employees of GM Financial, to give to our senior participants.
Each year, these cozy creations bring immense joy and comfort to our seniors, and they have become cherished by our participants. We are incredibly grateful for the dedication and generosity of the GM Financial team, whose heartfelt contributions make a meaningful impact on the lives of our seniors.
Learn how you can help by hosting a winter mitten drive at your workplace for gloves, scarves, and hats by contacting Becky Orander, Executive Director.
