Community Park Playground Now Open

The Community Park playground is ready for kids! The new recycled tire surface was installed last week, and the playground opened today. There's a section for 2-5 year olds, and the main section is for 5-12 year olds. There's also a new bench courtesy of Chick-fil-A! The park is on Sangre de Cristo across the street from Shaffer Elementary. Come try it out!

Fourth of July Event

The Fourth of July blowout at the Ranch House Pool will feature live music by the Jim Hyatt Band from noon-2 p.m. The pool will be open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Come join your neighbors for an afternoon of patriotic fun!

Feedback from Residents

Ken-Caryl Ranch wants to encourage feedback from residents, and there are several ways in which to provide it. Our official Facebook page is called Ken-Caryl Ranch, and it is for all neighborhoods east and west C-470 (the Plains, Valley and North Ranch). While there are several other Facebook pages and groups that have Ken-Caryl in their name, most of those pages are not monitored by staff. We encourage residents to post questions or comments on the Ken-Caryl Ranch page, and staff will respond in a timely manner. If you are interested specifically in Bond Issue 5A updates, there is a Facebook page called Ken-Caryl Bond Updates. In addition to Facebook, you can send emails directly to any Staff Member, Master Association Board Member or Metropolitan District Board Member or you can send a message through our Questions/Suggestions link.

Public Hearing Regarding Heirloom Park; Concept Plan Now Online

Residents are invited to attend a public hearing on Tuesday, June 24 at 6 p.m. at the Ranch House regarding the Concept Plan for Heirloom Park, located at 1 Mountain Oak in the Valley. The public hearing will be part of the Metro District's Board meeting, and it will be the first item on the agenda. We encourage residents to attend and provide feedback on the proposed concept for the park. You can also view the plan through the link above and provide comments via email to Chris Pacetti at chrisp@kcranch.org.

Committee Openings: Community Planning, Open Space and Covenant Control

Ken-Caryl is looking for volunteers for three committees. The Community Planning Committee develops and monitors implementation of the long-range Community Master Plan, which includes the bond-financed project concepts recently approved. The Open Space Committee is an advisory committee to the Master Association Board and makes recommendations to the Board on open space related policies and projects. The Covenant Control Committee upholds the governing documents of the Master Association and ensures enforcement in a fair and timely manner. You can find out more about these committees as well as download an application on our Committees page. Applications will be accepted until positions are filled.

Reminder About Special Arrangement for Use of Ridge Recreation Center

As of January 2014, Ken-Caryl residents can use the Ridge Recreation Center at Foothills resident rates for all of 2014. The agreement is valid for admission for open swim, drop-in gymnasium and track use, racquetball, and the climbing wall at the Ridge Recreation Center only and does not apply to classes or youth programs. A special Ken-Caryl ID card issued by Foothills for $5 is required to get the special rate. Proof of residency is needed to get your Ken-Caryl ID card. See the Foothills website for more information on the Intergovernmental Agreement that allows for this special discount.
