What are you excited to learn during your time at Classical KC?
I am excited to learn more about the ins and outs of a classical music radio station and all the work that goes into making it successful. I'm looking forward to learning as much as I can about the Kansas City music and arts community.Â
Favorite composer:Â
My favorite classical composer is probably Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky because I grew up with his pieces like Swan Lake and Romeo and Juliet, but later grew to love Variations on a Rococo Theme, all his symphonies and more.Â
Â
What excites you about classical music?Â
I'm excited for its future because it's constantly changing and still weaving its way into people's souls in all its different forms.Â
Â
What recording or piece of music would you bring to a dinner party to introduce guests to classical music?
This is such a difficult question for me! But probably Was it a Dream? by Jean Sibelius performed by Yo-Yo Ma and Kathryn Stott. It definitely puts me in my feels but is short enough that people can get the gist. Â
