Featured Photo | RVR Wakes to a Smoky Dawn |
On Saturday, August 9, the sunrise over the RVR golf course was nothing short of spectacular. Captured by Julie Krousouloudis from her home, the scene shows the sun glowing a deep, vivid red as wildfire smoke cast a warm haze across the eastern sky.
We would love to feature your photo in an upcoming mailing. If you're interested in having your photo highlighted in the weekly news, please submit images to: jessica.hennessy@rvrma.org.

RVR4Good Reaches $10K Goal for La Clinica
We wanted to take a moment to highlight the incredible work being done by RVR4Good and the generosity of our community. Neighbors came together to raise the final funds needed to meet a $10,000 goal, allowing La Clinica to move forward with hiring a full-time behavioral medicine therapist. This new role will support vital mental health services for uninsured and underserved individuals in our valley. A big thank you to all who contributed, what a wonderful reflection of the RVR spirit!

Speed Limit in RVR: 20 MPH
As the start of the school year approaches, we want to remind all residents to be extra mindful while driving through the neighborhood. Children will soon be walking, biking, and bussing to and from school, increasing activity on our streets.
Please slow down and drive with caution to help prevent accidents and ensure the safety of our entire community. The speed limit in RVR is 20 mph and it's crucial that we all follow it at all times.
| |
Thank you to those who consistently observe the speed limit and help make RVR a safe and welcoming place for everyone.

Firewise Home Design: A Smarter, Safer Approach |
As wildfire risk continues to grow across Colorado, RVRMA is committed to supporting homeowners in designing and building more fire-resistant homes. Whether you’re planning a renovation or building from the ground up, our Design Review Committee welcomes and encourages fire-defensive design.
We recently launched a new Firewise Home Design page on our website, where you’ll find expert guidance on everything from fire-resistant building materials to smart landscaping strategies.

Safety Spotlight | Stop Embers at the Source |
During a wildfire, embers, not flames, are often the biggest threat to homes. These tiny, wind-driven sparks can enter attics through vents and ignite materials inside.
To reduce this risk, make sure your attic vents are screened with 1/8” metal mesh. This small screen size helps block the larger, hotter embers capable of starting fires. Think of it like a campfire: the little sparks burn out fast, but the big glowing chunks can stay hot and dangerous.
Bonus tip: Avoid storing flammable items in your attic, even small embers can ignite boxes, paper, or fabric stored up there.
Stay safe and ember-aware!

Important Reminder!
Garfield County is now under stage 2 fire restrictions. This applies to all of Garfield County. RVRMA covenants, section 3.11, also prohibits exterior fires within the Common Interest Community (exterior gas units are allowable).
