Voice to Vision: Our Annual Campus Dining Survey
It’s that time of year again! We take your feedback to improve your GW Dining experience through our Voice to Vision Survey. Don’t miss your chance to participate and let us know how we can make your campus dining experience better.
Past feedback has helped us implement positive changes such as:
|
- Menu enhancements within the all-you-care-to-eat dining halls
- New concepts added to campus, such as Panda Express & Chick-fil-A in spring and fall 2025
- Changes to hours of operation
|
|
|
A few important notes to know before you start the survey:
|
|
|
- It is confidential. We do not release individual data to anyone; survey answers are entirely anonymous.
- It is quick. The survey only takes 8 - 10 minutes to complete.
-
Take it while it is active. The survey will go live tomorrow, Wednesday, Oct. 1 and the deadline to complete the survey is Thursday, Oct. 31. Please take it at your earliest convenience.

Decide What's Served Next at the Avoiding Gluten Station
Students can now choose what’s served at the Avoiding Gluten station in Thurston and Shenkman Dining Halls for dinner. Each week, a food poll is shared to our Instagram story, where you can vote on the next featured menu. So far, students have selected favorites such as taco bowls and fried rice. Be part of the action and cast your vote for the next Avoiding Gluten dish!

Celebrating GW Dining Contributions to STARS Platinum Rating
GW has earned its first-ever STARS Platinum rating from AASHE - an accomplishment that has been achieved by only 8 other universities nationwide. This recognition is based on rigorous, audited reporting across the university, and GW Dining was honored to play a role. From sustainable food sourcing (that meets standards like organic, fair trade, and humane certifications) to expanding plant-forward menus, reducing food waste, and supporting student engagement, the efforts of our dining staff directly contributed towards reaching STARS Platinum. Together, with partners across campus, these steps show how everyday dining choices support GW’s long-term sustainability commitments.

I’ve felt so warmly welcomed (toasted, if you will) since arriving on campus - thank you! Over the past few weeks, I’ve been working with our foodservice team to raise allergen awareness and make dining safer for everyone. Your voices have already helped shape real change, and this fall I’m excited to focus on allergen-friendly resources - amplifying the experiences of those with food allergies and highlighting the importance of safe, informed choices. My goal is simple: to help you access food that’s safe, nutritious, and supportive of your well-being. Because when you're nourished, you can truly flourish.
Got food allergy thoughts, ideas, or questions? Let’s talk!
