Julie Hallet MD, MSc, FRCSC,surgical oncologist at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto, Canada, is an Associate Scientist at the Odette Cancer Research Program, Sunnybrook Research Institute, and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Toronto. She is one of four core oncologists at the Susan Leslie Multidisciplinary Neuroendocrine Tumors Clinic. Her clinical expertise includes neuroendocrine tumors; hepatobiliary, pancreatic and upper gastrointestinal malignancies; and minimally invasive and image-guided therapies.
The focus of Dr. Hallet’s research is on conducting health services population-based research to examine processes, patterns of care and outcomes for hepato-pancreato-biliary cancers. In particular, Dr. Hallet is dedicated to improving care and outcomes for neuroendocrine tumor patients by ensuring timely diagnosis and effective management. She is also working on implementing and evaluating outcomes of pre-operative 3-D planning and intra-operative navigation programs for liver surgery.
