Highlights From 2021

NAM is grateful for all of our members and partners who have continued to serve Middle Tennessee through challenging times in 2021. This year was also a year of celebration for NAM as we honored our bicentennial year, and 200 years of physicians serving the Nashville area. Here are the top three 2021 highlights, all of which were made possible by you:
  1. Tennessee Senate Resolution - The Tennessee Senate honored NAM with a joint resolution on March 4 to commemorate the bicentennial anniversary on March 5.
  2. Historical Timeline - NAM launched a historical timeline to commemorate 200 years of history with over 250 points of interest.
  3. Bicentennial Gala - On the first Saturday in October, members gathered at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center for a bicentennial gala benefiting the Medical Foundation of Nashville and honoring two hundred years of physicians serving Nashville
More to come! Stay tuned for a Hatch Show print and coffee table book to be released at the beginning of 2022 commemorating the gala and bicentennial anniversary of NAM.

Join Us for Our 2022 President's Reception

Join us as we celebrate the accomplishments of 2021 and look forward to 2022. We will install Gregg Shepard, MD as our 2022 President and honor members who have served on the NAM and MFN boards.

Volunteer Opportunity: Doctor of the Day

NAM members and other physicians throughout the state will volunteer through TMA to serve as Doctor of the Day during the 2022 legislative session.  Volunteers will serve on Tuesdays from February 1 - April 26, 2022.
The Doctor of the Day program has shown to be a highly effective grassroots tool by providing an exclusive opportunity for our members to show policymakers the value of quality healthcare from a physician's perspective. Volunteers spend one day at the capitol and have the unique opportunity to interact with legislators on the House and Senate floors, attend committee meetings and get a first-hand look at the legislative process.

New Prescribing Training Course Available

TMA has updated its proprietary, accredited online prescribing course, “Appropriate Prescribing in Tennessee: 2021-2022,” to include a new video with current information and revised course materials. Tennessee state law requires all physicians renewing a medical license in 2022 to have completed two hours of prescribing CME during the calendar years 2020 or 2021.

The course is accredited for a maximum of 2 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ (Enduring) by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education. It costs $49 for NAM and TMA members; $99 for non-members.
