Point Scholarship for BIPOC LGBTQ Students- Deadline: October 26! Scholarships of up to $1,500 are for members of Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) communities who identify as LGBTQ. Students must be enrolled / intending to enroll at an accredited community college or four-year college/university in the US with a full-time or part-time course load.

US Department of Treasury Junior Fellowship- Deadline: October 30! The Junior Fellowship program is a two-year paid program for new college graduates to work shaping international economic policy for the United States in the Treasury’s Office of International Affairs. Junior Fellows have exposure to multiple policy issues and opportunities to enhance their knowledge and skills. They typically perform a variety of tasks that include developing policy proposals, analyzing international economic and financial developments, and conducting analytical studies. Applicants will have recently received – or will soon receive in May 2023 – a bachelor’s degree with relevant coursework in economics, public policy, finance, international relations, or related fields. Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a national security clearance. Applications will be evaluated in December 2022 for Fellows to start in summer 2023 (or at a mutually agreed alternative time).

Public Policy and International Affairs (PPIA) Fellowship- Deadline: November 1! The Junior Summer Institute is a rigorous academic graduate-level preparation program for undergraduate juniors committed to public service careers. Now hosted at six sites across the US, this fully-funded opportunity equips fellows with the knowledge and skills they will need to succeed in graduate school and ultimately, in influential roles serving the public good, including with government, nonprofits, public policy institutions, and international organizations. The purpose of the JSI is to prepare students to obtain a Master’s or related degree in international affairs, public policy, public administration, or similar field.

Diverse International Women of Color Study Abroad Scholarship- Deadline: November 1! Intended to assist women of color who are exceptional in their studies and in need of financial assistance to study abroad. DIWC will award $500 scholarships to select women of color who have been accepted to an in-person Spring 2023 study abroad program.

Critical Language Scholarship- Deadline: November 15. CLS is a fully-funded summer study abroad opportunity to learn languages essential to the US: Azerbaijani, Bangla, Hindi, Indonesian, Persian, Punjabi, Swahili, Turkish, Urdu, Arabic, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Chinese, and Japanese. Previous language study is not needed for most languages. Contact Dr. Alvarado for more info.

CLS Spark- Deadline: November 15. CLS Spark provides virtual instruction to U.S. undergraduate students at the complete beginning level of Arabic, Chinese, and Russian, specifically targeting students who do not have access to studying these languages at their home campus. **NEW AWARD** William D. Clarke, Sr. Diplomatic Security Fellowship- Deadline: November 30. The 2023 fellowship program is intended for talented students who want to pursue a master’s degree and a career as a Diplomatic Security Service Special Agent in the Foreign Service. Students selected for the Clarke DS Fellowship program will receive academic support of up to $42,000 annually for tuition, room and board, books, mandatory fees, and some travel expenses for the two-year program.

California Advanced Practice Healthcare Scholarship Program (APHSP)- Deadline: October 31! APHSP increases the number of appropriately trained healthcare professionals providing direct patient care in a qualified facility in California. Eligible applicants may receive up to $25,000 in exchange for a 12-month service obligation practicing and providing direct patient care in an underserved community. APHSP is eligible for the following programs:

Innovation in Buildings (IBUILD) Graduate Research Fellowship- Deadline: December 2. IBUILD invites applications from students who are enrolled or intend to enroll in a research-focused master’s or PhD program. Managed by Oak Ridge National Laboratory, the fellowship will strengthen the pool of well-trained, diverse MS and PhD scholars who are equipped for research-intensive building technologies careers across all sectors. IBUILD Fellows will receive research and educational support (over $60,000 annually) to conduct innovative research in an area with demonstrated relevance to building energy efficiency. In addition to funding high-quality research, the fellowship will provide professional development, mentoring, networking, and support for internship opportunities.

Future Leaders in Public Service Internship Program
Managed by the Partnership for Public Service, the Future Leaders in Public Service Internship Program helps bring young talent to government and offers students the opportunity to apply their educational training to work at the Department of Transportation and the Department of Commerce as paid interns. Candidates must be US citizens at the time of application, currently enrolled at an accredited educational institution, and have 2.5+ GPA. Learn more.
