Attention international graduate students! The Padnos International Center will be hosting The International Graduate Student Mixer on Monday, August 22 from 6:30-9:30 p.m. in the Centennial Room at Founders Brewing Company. This will be a part of the orientation events for upcoming international graduate students.
REMINDER: There are two New Graduate Student Orientation sessions on August 24! There will be one from3:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m. and another from6:00-8:00 p.m., both held in the Charles W. Loosemore Auditorium. A virtual New Graduate Student Orientation will be held on August 25 from3:00-5:00 p.m.via Zoom. A link will be provided closer to the orientation date. Students can register for their preferred sessiononline.
GVSU is holding a TEDx event and is seeking graduate students to join as speakers! This is a great opportunity to share your academic work and add this experience onto your resume. The event will be held in the Louis Armstrong Theatre in Allendale on Friday, September 9. Interested students can share their presentation ideas to tedxgrandvalleystateuniversity@gmail.com.
Join three GVSU Alumni for a panel discussion on job offers! They will give advice on how to determine salary requirements, effectively negotiate a salary offer (and should you?), navigate the timing of receiving an offer, and other job offer hot topics. Students can RSVP for the virtual event on GVSU's Alumni webpage. The panel discussion will begin at 6:00 p.m. on August 30.
Opportunity Alert! GVSU K-12 Connect is searching for part-time K-12 virtual tutors for this Fall! This is a paid opportunity, and a great way for students of any major to gain community-based learning experience. Applications will close at the end of August.
