Update your logo to the new Mason branding
After many months of market research, stakeholder input, and planning, Mason plans to unveil the new university branding and graphic elements, which will include updates to the current logo during Mason Day on April 26, 2024. As part of a three-year, university-wide coordinated process, the Mason Science Marcom team will submit a full list of crowd sourced college-related logos that will require updating. Please review the list we have started and add any logos your program, organization, or center may require by April 1, 2024. Details and the list can also be accessed on the Marcom page of the Mason Science Intranet.

Nominations for Term Faculty Committee due March 12
The Term Faculty Committee is accepting nominations for two openings beginning in fall 2024, which are due by Tuesday, March 12 no later than 5 p.m. To be considered for membership, email facaffs@gmu.edu with the subject line “Term Faculty Committee Nomination.” Include a statement addressing the nomination criteria, your academic unit affiliation(s), and a copy of your current CV.

We continue to celebrate our #MasonScience Dean's Award winners with Keanah Turner, undergraduate advisor and adjunct faculty for the Department of Environmental Science and Policy (ESP), for earning the Dean’s Student Service Award. Turner has created an ESP undergraduate ambassador program and recruited students, working with them to spread awareness about department opportunities, faculty, and courses, as well as guiding our students about their futures after college with an environmental science degree. Outstanding Achievement Awards Deadline February 29, 2024 | 11:59 p.m. Did you know that the Outstanding Achievement Awards have a category just for alumni who work at Mason? Your hard work and contributions to the university community are a reflection of your unique perspectives and experiences as former students and current employees. Submit a nomination.
Each week (Mondays, March 11 - April 15, noon to 1 p.m.), this local learning community (LLC) will take time to extend and reflect on the topics covered in the Inclusive STEM Teaching Project EdX course. This NSF sponsored course is aimed to “advance the awareness, self-efficacy, and ability of STEM faculty, postdocs, graduate students, and staff to cultivate inclusive learning environments for all their students and to develop themselves as reflective, inclusive practitioners.” To participate in this LLC, if you have not already registered for or taken the Ed X course, please register for the Inclusive STEM Teaching Project Course and let us know that you will be joining by also registering directly with us via the registration form.
Volunteer to support the Ramadan Initiative Project Deadline March 8, 2024
The Ramadan Initiative Project created by Success Coaches within the Student Success Coaching Unit invites you to support its efforts by volunteering to hand out Friday meal bags, sponsor a mini Iftar during Ramadan, volunteer as a helper for the kickoff Iftar, or donate items for weekly meal bags.
