Upcoming Starbucks Morning Seminar to Review BRIGHT MLS Off-MLS Policy

According to a new policy created by BRIGHT MLS last month, a listing must be submitted to BRIGHT within 1 business day of marketing, to provide transparency and access to information in the real estate marketplace.
Join BRIGHT MLS Regional Vice President, Kurt Miller for Starbucks Morning: BRIGHT MLS Off-MLS Policy seminar (December 2nd; 10:00am-11:30am) for a discussion about BRIGHT and NAR’s Off-MLS policy and what you need to know when advertising your listings. The discussion will also cover “the 3 C’s” - consumers, competition and cooperation - as well as the ideals of fair housing in relation to this policy. Plus Kurt will answer your questions about the policy.
Click here to register for the seminar (once logged in, scroll over "Events" and then click on "Upcoming Meetings").

Association Introduces New Customizable Flyers on Fair Housing, Disability and Familial Status

Fair Housing means that all people have the right to choose where they live regardless of who they are or where they come from. This includes, renters, homeowners and people obtaining a mortgage or homeowners insurance. Additionally, under the Fair Housing Act, people with physical or mental disabilities are permitted to request reasonable accommodations that are necessary for a person with a disability to have an equal opportunity to use and enjoy housing.
The Association has created two new customizable flyers to start the conversation and provide valuable information to your clients on Fair Housing:
To request customization services, Suburban West members can forward their headshot, company logo and contract information to Kristin Tornetta for branding. The flyers will be saved as a PDF and emailed back to you so that you can print them at your leisure.

In an effort to provide our members and the public with the most updated information available on the whereabouts of Realtor® members, the “Realtors® on the Move" list is updated bi-monthly. You can access the most recently published list here.

Taking the Home off the Market for the Holidays? Here are Your Options in BRIGHT

Often around this time of year Sellers are having conversations with their Realtors® about pulling the home off the market so they can decorate and won’t have the distraction of showings during the busy holiday season.
With the recent Off-MLS policy and many subscribers still getting to know BRIGHT's status options, there have been a lot of questions about the best way to pull the listing off the market, reset DOM/CDOM and adhere to the Off-MLS Policy. BRIGHT MLS suggests the following things to consider as you talk to your seller about the best decision for them.

Investors, Developers Looking to Coatesville as Revitalization Progresses

City leaders, with backing from county officials, are determined to return Coatesville to prosperity over the next decade, and investors and developers are on board, lured by a new strategic action plan from the newly formed Coatesville Second Century Alliance. The city has received nearly $7 million in grants from the county Department of Community Development’s Urban Center Revitalization Program. Part of that funding included a total of $1.7 million for work on the First Avenue and Lincoln Highway intersection, which is often referred to as the city’s gateway. Construction of a train station at Third Avenue has been stalled, but PennDOT is anticipating that construction will start in just over a year and conclude within three years thereafter. Read more.
