UMKC has been notified of 24 positive COVID-19 cases on campus.
  • One case involves an individual who was in the School of Pharmacy third floor study room, School of Dentistry room 209 and first floor clinic, and School of Medicine Library on April 29.
  • One case involves an individual who was in Grant Hall and Miller Nichols Library on  April 29.
  • One case involves an individual who was in Health Sciences Building room 5428 on April 27.
  • One case involves an individual who was in Grant Hall rooms 316 and 122 and the choir library on April 29.
  • One case involves an individual who was in  School of Medicine theater A and Health Sciences Building fifth floor on April 25.
  • One case involves an individual who was in Grant Hall rooms 122 and 330 on April 29.
  • One case involves an individual who was in Berkley Child Development Center on May 2.
  • One case involves an individual who was in Flarsheim Hall fourth floor on April 28.
  • One case involves an individual who was in the southeast quadrant of the third floor of the Administrative Center on April 27.
  • One case involves an individual who was in Administrative Center room 120, the fourth floor of the Student Union and room 105 of the Atterbury Center on May 2.
  • One case involves an individual who was in School of Dentistry room 3151 on April 29.
  • One case involves an individual who was in Katz Hall third floor on May 3.
  • One case involves an individual who was in the School of Law on April 29.
  • One case involves an individual who was in Flarsheim Hall room 534, the Performing Arts Center lobby and the second floor of the Administrative Center on April 29.
  • One case involves an individual who was in the National Museum of Toys and Miniatures on May 3.
  • One case involves an individual who was in the Administrative Center and School of Dentistry on May 5.
  • One case involves an individual who was in Bloch Executive Hall suite 102 on May 3.
  • One case involves an individual who was in Grant Hall third floor on May 4.
  • One case involves an individual who was in the Health Sciences Building on May 4.
  • One case involves an individual who was in Hospital Hill Apartments first floor on  May 4.
  • One case involves an individual who was in the Disability Resource Center in Brookside 51, Biological Sciences Building fourth floor, Miller Nichols Library first and fourth floors and the Dining Hall on May 4.
  • One case involves an individual who was in School of Med Theater A on May 5.
  • One case involves an individual who was in the Dental School first floor clinic on May 5.
  • One case involves an individual who was in the central cooling plant on April 29.
Those who test positive will remain isolated as recommended by local and national guidelines.
UMKC will continue to follow the recommendations of the local health department and the CDC. UMKC relies on these health experts to determine protocols for how to handle positive tests of faculty, staff, students or visitors on campus.
Actions that individuals can take to protect their own health, as well as the health and safety of the campus community, include staying home if you have COVID-like symptoms.
According to our campus policies, we will post notices of positive cases online once a week, on Mondays. All students, faculty and staff are required to report a positive COVID-19 test within four hours of receiving the test result. 
Students who test positive for COVID-19 should report COVID-19 positive test results to the UMKC HelpLine at 816-235-2222. Do not come to campus, or go to class, if you have tested positive.
Faculty and staff should report positive COVID-19 test results to their supervisor or to HR at 816-235-1229.
After normal business hours, reports of positive tests by students or employees should be made to 816-235-COVI (2684).
