Eric Steagall, a sports studies scholar in the School of History and Sociology, questions how sports can help us understand larger societal issues. The Ph.D. candidate is researching the famous amateur golfer and Georgia Tech alum Bobby Jones, who played during the "Golden Age of American Sports" in the 1920s.

Daniel Matisoff (Public Policy) received the Organizations and Natural Environment Outstanding Book Award for Ecolabels, Innovation, and Green Market Transformation at the Academy of Management's annual meeting in Chicago.

Helen Anne Curry (History and Sociology) co-edited a special issue of the journal Plants, People, Planet titled "The History of Crop Science and the Future of Food," which explores the historical role of crop sciences in shaping today’s global food system. The fully open-access issue features fourteen papers examining the relationships between ecologies, societies, and technologies that influence the future of food.

Regents' Professor Marilyn A. Brown (Public Policy) delivered a keynote address at the Applied Energy Conference at MIT on mobilizing residential markets for climate-smart electric technologies, co-authored with doctoral student Snehal Kale. She also served as the lead author of a report from the Southeast Decarbonization Workshop, which brought together over 150 participants to discuss strategies for a clean energy future in the Southeast.

Harry Oppenheimer (Public Policy) and colleagues presented their paper, “Digital Discrimination of Users in Sanctioned States: The Case of the Cuba Embargo,” at the USENIX Security Conference, where it received the Distinguished Paper Award. Additionally, Oppenheimer was elected as a term member of the Council on Foreign Relations.

Stéphanie Boulard (Modern Languages) presented her research at the Comite International d'Histoire de l'Art World Congress in Lyon, France, delivering a talk titled "Matter and Creation: Pascal Quignard's Pictorial Fact." She also presented a talk on wildness and hospitality, focusing on birds of prey, in contemporary French literature and performances at a conference in Paris on environmental humanities in the arts.
