Pink Progression: Rethinking the Pinking
Last chance to participate in a Pink Progression exhibition workshop: March 17 This hands-on workshop and discussion will address the symbolism of the pussy hat and generate new concepts for more inclusive symbolism. Artists Frankie Toan and Steven Frost will encourage open dialogue. Participants will have an opportunity to share their thoughts on the pussy hat, what it means to them, how it creates community, and how as a symbol it excludes many people who share feminist values.

Recommended Read
"Just in time for St. Patrick's Day.....The setting is a small town in Ireland in the 1970s, and the main character, Mahony, is an orphan looking for clues to his past. All he has is a photo of himself as an infant with his mother. The back of the photo states that she was the scourge of the town. All of the characters--both the living townspeople and the ghostly inhabitants that only Mahony can see--are fabulously done. In particular, the antics of the ghosts made me laugh out loud. As Mahony draws close to solving the mystery of his mother's disappearance, half of the town embraces him, while the other half grows afraid of him when they find out who he is. Read it if you gravitate toward charming settings, supernatural elements, raunchy humor, and quirky characters."
