School of Architecture announces 2022 Richard H. Driehaus Prize laureate 

Rob Krier, an architect, urbanist, scholar, painter, sculptor and educator, has been named the recipient of the 2022 Richard H. Driehaus Prize.
"He paved the way for a return to the humanist ideal of seeking a civilized life in cities.”

Brain shortcuts and vaccine/mask non-compliance 

Theodore Beauchaine, the William K. Warren Foundation Professor of Psychology, and his co-authors explain the cognitive shortcuts that can affect how we assess risk and decide to behave in the face of a pandemic in a recent paper in the journal Brain, Behavior and Immunity.

Snow Day! 

There’s nothing like snow to bring out the kid in anyone, and students took advantage of the recent snow day on Wednesday, Feb. 2. Classes were canceled and campus closed for all but essential/emergency personnel. University photographer Matt Cashore captured students frolicking in the snow while staff worked to keep the campus safe during the winter storm.

Special delivery: James O'Rourke speaks with The Washington Post

James O'Rourke, professor of management in the Mendoza College of Business, spoke with The Washington Post about safety concerns for electric planes delivering packages. The electric planes, built to have a vertical takeoff and landing, also called eVOTLS, look to move packages from warehouse to warehouse.
