Welcome      Grow       Serve      Celebrate

Thank you, Louise!Louise+1.jpg

A big thank you to Louise Johnson for feeding us over the past few years on Wednesday nights and at all our fellowship events.  Louise has done a wonderful job coordinating these events and making them extra special.  She is now in a season in her life where her family needs more of her time and she will no longer be able to commit to this ministry.  Please take time to send Louise your words of gratitude and tell her how much we love her lhj1951@bellsouth.net.

If you think feeding our church family is something you would be interested in, let us know!

September Is Here!

I have a friend who shared in her social media post, “And just like that, September is here!” Yep, just like that.  I wish September brought with it an end to Covid, but it does not.  We continue this journey and continue to pray for our healthcare workers, our schools, our church, and we continue our commitment to stay safe, stay connected, and serve the vulnerable.  September may not be bringing an end to Covid, but football has begun, pumpkin everything will soon be in abundance, and hopefully, we will see cooler temperatures soon.
We want to join in on the fun as a church family.  We have planned some safe ways to gather Wednesday evenings this month and hope you will join us when able.  In discussions around Wednesday evening, we have discerned two things important to those who love Wednesday evening meals. Wednesday night provides fellowship and a time for those of different ages to connect.  Our Wednesday evening gatherings will begin September 15 and each week will alternate between age group ministry opportunities and a time of intergenerational “Table Talk” following dinner.  We will provide all you need for the Table Talk time.  It will be a perfect way to connect across the ages with your Parkway Hills family. Wednesday night will look a little different for our youth as well.  Instead of going to the youth room for a third lesson of the week, on the nights we break into age group ministries, the youth will have various opportunities around our community. See below for a full schedule.
Due to the current heightened risk of being indoors, unmasked, we will eat outside at 5:45, and it will be a bring your own brown bag dinner.  We will reevaluate this at the end of September.  Drinks and dessert will be provided.  Tables will be set up, but we hope you will throw a chair in your car as this will aid us in making setup/cleanup simple and smooth each week.
Mark these dates and hope to see you Wednesday Nights this Fall!
*Bring your own Brown Bag Dinner (and chair!) @  5:45
September 15: Dinner outside followed by Age group ministries
*Youth will have a pool party 5:30-7:00: Girls at the Kiser home/Boys at the Miller home. Everyone else will join us at church at 5:45 outside. Adults we will  talk about what you would like to do on Wednesday evenings after dinner.
September 22: Dinner outside followed by intergenerational “Table Talk”
September 29: Dinner outside followed by Age group ministries
*Youth Game Night with the big screen!

Our Mobile Giving App is Changing! GivePlus+, our mobile giving app, is being retired September 30.  If you currently use the app GivePlus+ for your giving, be on the lookout for an email from Vanco September 8 and 15.  Vanco will be emailing you all the needed information to update to the new giving app, Vanco Mobile.  When you switch to the new app, your user ID and password should remain the same and all recurring gifts currently scheduled will be made. We hope this will be a smooth changeover but feel free to give us a call with any questions.

For those who are out-of-town, or any who still feel safer-at-home, we continue to livestream our service on Facebook at 10:45 am, and post the service on our YouTube channel by 1:00 pm.

Our Adults and Youth Help with
Extended Session on Sunday Mornings
Leadership Team met recently and reviewed our safety protocols for Covid.  As a team, we decided that due to the continued high number of Covid cases in our area and state, masks will be required indoors, regardless of vaccination status, until further notice.  In addition, in an effort to keep our children who cannot yet be vaccinated safe, we will follow these guidelines.  If a child and/or youth who attends Sunday School tests positive for Covid the following week, we will cancel Sunday School the following Sunday out of an abundance of caution.  Parents and teachers will be notified, given the start date to resume Sunday School, as well as information regarding symptoms of Covid-19.  As a reminder, if you or anyone in your household is ill for any reason or presenting any symptoms of Covid-19, please stay home.
Engage is our new name for our Sunday night Youth activities  (5:30-7:00 pm with dinner), a great chance for students to engage and connect with their faith, church and community.
