Tackling Tough Topics With Courage

Marijuana, alcohol, and vaping are dominating youth culture. These substances have changed dramatically in the past few years -- in toxicity, addictiveness, and physical and emotional impact.
We are setting aside the first week of April as "V WEEK” to engage as a community of educators, parents and students on this tough topic of substance use and abuse. We will have student activities every day intentionally chosen to raise questions and get students talking.
Please take a moment to watch this video from Tige Watson, Director of Student Experience. He explains more about V WEEK and how you can be involved.
V WEEK will culminate in a special seminar just for parents, aimed at helping equip you for conversations about the impact of marijuana, alcohol and vaping with your student.

DECA Students at State

Last weekend, 68 Valor students competed at the DECA state championships in Colorado Springs. Our chapter produced 4 state championships, 19 finalists, and the new DECA state president!

Information for Re-Enrollment

Enrollment for the 2019-2020 school year started in January. Information was emailed to all parents and can also be found on our website. Please search your inbox and spam folder for "Enrollment Information for the 2019-2020 School Year", if your student will be attending Valor. Please contact the office of enrollment if you have changed your email address.
If applying for Tuition Assistance, your request is reviewed only when your student is fully enrolled.

Local Service Opportunity

Does your student dance, draw, play a musical instrument, paint, act, perform, read stories? They can use their passions and gifts to serve seniors in our community. Find more information about Discovery's partnership with MorningStar Assisted Living to creatively bless those who have paved the way for us.

Last Week to Register for Practicum

Practicum registration will close on Friday, March 8. Take a look at all the options still available for your student.

Parents Contributing to After Prom

Parents play a huge role in helping make the After Prom Party a fun and safe evening for our junior and senior students. One way to get involved is by signing up to donate a prize for the night by April 12. If you're soliciting a donation from a business, you can use this letter for tax deduction purposes.

Conservatory Applications Are Now Open

Conservatory applications are now open. Performing and Visual Arts students applying to the program should click here to apply. Performing Arts applicants will also be able to sign up for an interview time and an audition. Dancers, please reference the dance audition packet and program overview below for the audition process.

Veritas, Competitive/Poms & Conservatory Auditions Starting April 2

This year we are taking a comprehensive approach to auditions and tryouts for our top dance groups, Veritas, Competitive/Poms and Conservatory. This format allows us to assist families in understanding their dance options, while helping us understand each student’s desires and directing them to a program where they can thrive. We will conduct a series of four professional-level master classes to teach the choreography for auditions.
You can explore dance program offerings, the auditions schedule, and the dance application in the Valor Dance Brochure and Dance Audition Packet. We look forward to a high energy environment where students support each other well and honor God through dance!
