Lilly Endowment awards grant for student mental health

The Lilly Endowment Inc. awarded the University $2.5 million to advance a holistic approach to student mental health that promotes well-being, resilience and restoration for students and caregivers alike. Student mental health is a key challenge across higher education. Surveys indicate as many as one in three college students experience a mental health condition serious enough to require counseling. (More...)

Learn about the Winter Session

The experimental Winter Session is a suite of engaging opportunities between the end of the Fall 2020 semester in November and the beginning of the Spring 2021 semester in February. The goal of the Winter Session is to capitalize on the length of this year’s winter break by providing meaningful engagement opportunities for students to nurture the formation of mind, body and spirit. I am ND: Meet Sharla Lewis

Sharla Lewis, program manager for Notre Dame women’s basketball, lives to serve others. “One thing I love about (my job) is the opportunity to be available to the players without expectations,” she said. “I can listen. I can encourage. I can give advice. I can just be a support person to them when they need it.” Her desire to serve extends to building bridges between races to bring about healing, understanding and reconciliation. (More...)
