The recent warm, beautiful weather has us itching for summer fun, including tennis! The maintenance team has already started the process of prepping the tennis courts by raking debris from the dry portions of the courts. They’ll continue to diligently work during good weather windows but will be met with cold and wet conditions into next week, slowing down progress as the clay can’t be worked on if it’s wet or frozen.
Read more about our unique clay courts below:
|
| |
|
RVR clay courts are beloved by the community and we boast one of the finest tennis facilities in the valley. The preparation of the five Har-Tru clay courts is a delicate job and requires a lot of work from RVR crews to get them ready for opening day. Crews are often met with cold and wet weather roadblocks that put a halt to their efforts. Reconditioning of the clay courts after winter months includes five segments: cleaning, leveling, top dressing, rolling and laying lines.
Click here to learn more about the details of these five steps and how the process unfolds.
We thank you for your patience while our crews work hard to get the courts in perfect shape for our members and guests!

DRC Improvement Applications |
As is typical this time of year, we are currently seeing an increase in Design Review Requests from the Community. Awning additions, landscape improvements, deck replacements and re-staining of homes are just some of the requests that have come through. Many of these repairs can be approved through a simple Administrative Approval process. More complex projects may require a more formal design review by the DRC. In all cases, we ask that homeowners please fill out and submit a Home Improvement Application form to seek approval before you begin your project.
Please email jessica.hennessy@rvrma.org if you have any questions.

Turf Aeration & Fertilization |
|
|
|
Please be advised that RVRMA will begin turf plug aeration and fertilization application in the master common areas and privately contracted lawns beginning Monday, April. 1.
Proper turf aeration provides for efficient use of water as it allows for greater penetration of surface applied irrigation water and minimizes surface run-off. Additionally, the aeration allows for the introduction of air into the soil which diminishes compaction and promotes soil health and root growth. If your private yard in the Settlement or Old Town is one that would be aerated, please help the crews by keeping your yard cleared of any debris and especially dog poop!

Crystal River Restoration Project
|
The Crystal River Restoration Project is gearing up to resume work this spring. Remaining work includes the interpretive signage design and installation, native plantings and temporary irrigation work. Signage is being designed and will be installed this fall. The team has deferred planting and irrigation work to this spring to give the plants the best opportunity to successfully establish.
Homeowners can expect work to take place through April 12.
*Please note the park will be closed as portions of the work is initiated. No major traffic disruptions are anticipated.

March is the time to purchase or renew your 2024 fishing license. Colorado's angling opportunities are world renowned, with over 27,000 miles of streams and more than 1,300 lakes and reservoirs. And our area is special for people who fly fish, with Gold Medal waters at our back door. Gold Medal waters are the pride of Colorado. These fisheries are designated by Colorado Parks and Wildlife that set the bar for cold-water habitat and offer the state's best opportunities to catch quality trout. Fishing license sales also help fund habitat improvement projects that support state birds, fish, and small game. If you don't fish, maybe you should start! Take a look at the Fishing Regulations brochure for more information. 2024 Fishing Regulation Brochure (state.co.us)
