SafetyWorks Week video shows homeowner impact
Our SafetyWorks Week for Seniors event, brought to you by our friends at Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, was an incredible success last month, with a week of hands-on activities helping seniors across West Scranton from July 3-7. Since 2010, we have partnered with Group Mission Trips to provide free home repairs to homeowners in underserved communities through Lackawanna County.
Check out this video to see the impact it had on one of our homeowners. Thank you again to our amazing volunteers for making this week a success!

Thank you AmeriCorps NCCC team!
NeighborWorks had the pleasure of hosting an AmeriCorps NCCC North Central Region team, Willow 3, for the past six weeks.

AmeriCorps NCCC is a full-time, team-based residential service program for 18-26 year-olds. AmeriCorps members serving in the NCCC program represent a wide variety of socioeconomic, cultural, geographic, and educational backgrounds.

During their service, the team performed various tasks around the community including vacant lot clearings for the Lackawanna County Land Bank, small home repair, installing smart home technology, exterior painting and staining, installing safety kits, and improving public spaces. They also spent some time assisting other organizations in the community including Friends of the Poor, Lackawanna Heritage Valley National and State Heritage Area, and Child Hunger Outreach Partners - Scranton Branch!

Their hardwork and commitment to serving our community truly showed over the past weeks and we are pleased to have had the opportunity of being their host sponsor and introducing them to our wonderful community!
