Duke Hosts USAID Science for Development Institute |

The USAID Science for Development Institute, held at the Duke in DC office, focused on the intersections across science, technology, innovation and federal policies, programs, and activities in international development. Prof. Sarah Bermeo delivered a keynote during the two-day event.

In August, 20 students from 16 countries (Ethiopia, Bangladesh, South Korea, Paraguay, Nepal, Peru, Costa Rica, Uganda, Mexico, India, Kazakhstan, Myanmar, Brazil, China, Armenia, Turkey) began their Duke MIDP journey. The cohort has an average of 9 years of work experience and represents a variety of professional fields, including government, development, peacebuilding, finance, nonprofit, entrepreneurship, energy and education.
The Duke-UNC Rotary Peace Center welcomed Class 23 of Rotary Peace Fellows - 11 students from 10 countries. Four of the fellows are in the Duke MIDP program.
