PRESIDENT'S CABINET LETTER

Dear De La Salle Community:
Wow – what a first quarter it has been for the students, faculty, and staff here at De La Salle, as well as the Advancement Office. The support of our community by our Parents, Alumni, and Friends has really been humbling. We started back in September, with a Taste of De La Salle that saw more than 525 guests in attendance, which was the most we have ever had to enjoy that event. And then we moved into October. The past month was a bit of a blur for our office with alumni affinity events, Athletic Hall of Fame activities, the De La Salle Golf Classic (which once again sold out), and our record-breaking Giving Week. For this year’s Giving Week, we received more than $450,000 in donations for the school.

The phrase thank you doesn’t seem enough to convey our wholehearted and deepest gratitude for the tremendous support we received during De La Salle Giving Week. Because of you, we were able to smash our goal and raise $453,532! The impact your support will have on our young men, our faculty, and our staff will be felt throughout the school year.
We want to thank all the students, faculty, and alumni who Shared the Joy they experienced here on Winton Drive via our video messages. If you missed any of them, please visit vimeo.com/dlshsconcord. We also want to take a moment to thank some very special donors - each of whom gave our school some incredible match gifts: Steve '83 and Kellie Abreu, Frank '73 and Lynn Wagner, Kevin Marchetti '93, the Hanson Family, Albert '92 and Mindy Seeno, the Salter Family, and two anonymous donors.

While we weren't able to meet last year's goal, we were able to collect 1,600 boxes of cereal and raise more than $1,800 for the Monument Crisis Center in Concord. A huge thank you to everyone who donated, as well as the students who helped Ms. Shelley collect cereal boxes every morning before school.
We also want to give a special shoutout to the 25 parent volunteers who helped load and drive the cereal boxes to Monument Crisis Center this week. Because of the De La Salle community, there are many families within Contra Costa County who are now able to enjoy a hearty breakfast!

Theatre Company's Fall Production of R & J & Z closes this weekend. R & J & Z is equally inspired by Shakespeare and modern zombie films. It pushes the boundaries of theatrical humor and horror and explores what might have happened if Romeo and Juliet had a second chance. The play begins with Act V of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet and keeps going as the famous lovers navigate a world in which death isn't necessarily the end.
Tickets cost only $15 for adults and $10 for students and alumni for the November 3, 4, & 5 showings. Click here to purchase your tickets today!
