A Heartfelt Prayer from Gethro, Young Life Haiti Camp Manager

This heartfelt prayer was shared at the close of a staff meeting in Haiti last week. As we enter Holy Week, we offer it to you as both a reminder and an invitation—wherever you are and whatever you may be facing, our Lord sees you, knows you, and is with you. He is the Hope for the world.

We also share it as a glimpse into the deep faith that sustains our Haitian brothers and sisters through unimaginably hard days. Even in suffering, our team clings to the hope and presence of God.

Thank you God for your grace and your infinite love towards us. God, thank you because up until now you haven't forgotten about us. You are by our side. We ask you, God, to continue praying and holding us - the kids, the leaders who are going through difficult times.  We ask you to please cover them, protect them. 

You know . . . you see what we're going through, you see the clouds above the country and we ask, God, to please limit the gangs and allow for us to hide under your arms so that you may protect us. Continue protecting us, please. Every club in this country - we bring them forward, We bring them to you. You see the work we're doing! The work cannot stop and with that we ask you to protect the ministry.

Please God, touch the evil doers' hearts; help them understand that they have a Creator. They have somebody way greater than them. Allow them time to think about their life. Help them understand all the things that they are destroying, it will be hard for us to get them back.

God, please, we give the the whole country to you, the whole world, and those countries that are friends with Haiti - We ask you to knock at their door so that they may help us.  We know that the security is in your hands, but God, please bring those to help us.

Be with us, we give the rest of the day to you and we pray in the name of the Father and the Son. Forever and ever. Amen.
