HomeAid 2022 Impact

HomeAid’s impact for 2022 was diverse and vast.

HomeAid completed 58 projects and Care Days this year to meet the various needs of those experiencing or at risk of homelessness. The paths to homelessness are as unique as the paths leading to dignified housing, and we proudly partner with agencies supporting clients throughout their individual journeys to stability.

Construction

In 2022 HomeAid through its 19 affiliates nationwide saw the completion of 58 developments and care days including:

Places of refuge for survivors of domestic violence in Austin, Orlando, and Sacramento

A resource center and dental clinic for families in Houston

Housing for children and foster youth in Atlanta, Colorado, Sacramento, and Utah

Housing for adults with disabilities and medical needs in Austin, Orlando, and Utah

Emergency, supportive and permanent housing for families in Colorado, Orange County, Phoenix, and Utah

Emergency shelter and housing for veterans in Atlanta, Los Angeles, Minnesota, and Portland

Housing for survivors of human trafficking in Austin, Northern California, and Orlando

Housing for men and women experiencing chronic homelessness in Atlanta, National Capital Region, Portland, and Utah

Housing for women and children experiencing homelessness in Atlanta, Colorado, National Capital Region, Sacramento, and San Diego

Housing for emancipated youth in Austin and Sacramento

Housing for the aging populations in National Capital Region, Sacramento, and Utah

Our work continues in 2022 as 90 critically-needed developments are in the process of creating an additional 2,109 new beds for those who find themselves experiencing homelessness.

HomeAid Houston Highlights

Community Engagement

HomeAid engagement programs coordinate with their local communities to collect and distribute donations of much-needed items, such as:

Diaper Drives: Diapers, formula, wipes, and Builders for Babies

Share the Warmth: Blankets, winter coats, gloves, scarfs, hats

Seats and Feet: Socks and underwear

Care Kits: Personal hygiene items, snacks, water, and resource cards

Back to School Drives: Needed school supplies for at-risk public schools.

Care Days are a means for volunteers to engage in light construction and maintenance activities for HomeAid partner non-profit organizations. Activities may include paint days, landscaping, demolition, and building improvements.

HomeAid Essential Drives Provides Nearly 4 Million Diapers for Families in Need in 2022

In 2022, ten HomeAid affiliates, in collaboration with several HomeAid building and nonprofit partners, collected nearly 4 million diapers and over 2 million other critical baby items during the 2022 HomeAid Essentials Drives that took place from March to August. These necessary items will provide much-needed resources to children and families across the nation.
