July Happenings
We hope you're enjoying summer. Here's what's happening at LVCA:
  • Day Soiree, Saturday, July 9: Come out to the Jefferson School tomorrow for the Day Soiree, a day of music, food, vendors, and activities for the whole family. The free event runs from 11am-4pm. Learn more about area nonprofits and celebrate summer with us!

  • Tutor Training, July 23: We have a long list of students waiting for tutors. Please sign up for our Tutor Training on Saturday, July 23, or encourage your friends and family to do so. The training takes place from 9:30am-4:00pm at the Jefferson School and lunch will be provided by C&O Resturant.

  • Joy of Writing Potluck: Come out to celebrate the publication of our students' stories in The Joy of Writing with a potluck feast, 5:30-7:00pm on Wednesday, August 3 in the Mary Williams Community Center (first floor of Jefferson school). Bring a dish to share!

  • Summer Reading Selfies: Be sure to follow us on Twitter and Facebook to take part in our Summer Reading Selfie series in July. Share a picture of you with your favorite summer read on our Facebook page or email Amie and she'll make sure it makes it there.

For more information about any of these events, email Amie.
