Roll Wave!
Newcomb-Tulane College | First-Year Experience Team
Do you wonder who else from your area is headed to Tulane this coming year? Well, wonder no more by attending a Hello Wave reception for incoming students and families. These in-person events allow you to connect in your hometown with past, current, and future Tulanians before heading to campus.
Many events include a Tulane representative from Student Affairs, Newcomb-Tulane College, and Alumni Relations who will be available to answer your questions as you get ready to join the Tulane family. When possible, current Tulane student leaders attend as well to answer your student life questions and more (they are certainly the experts on all-things Tulane!).
These 2-hour, casual events take place across the U.S. from mid-June through early August. Check out the complete list and register for a Hello Wave event near you. More events will be added throughout the summer, so check back later if you do not see an event near you. If you have any questions, contact Valerie Calenda at vtimmer@tulane.edu.

As a bonus, we’ll have Tulane swag to give away to help you decorate your space and show your Tulane spirit. Get to know your Tulane family in your hometown by clicking the button below. We hope to see you there!

Hullabaloo Hello is a celebratory welcome to Tulane University beginning the moment you arrive to campus. This celebration encompasses move-in, orientation programming, signature welcome events, and so much more. Throughout the experience, you will be introduced to the people, peers, and places committed to supporting your transition. Plus, there will be a parade of opportunities to build community with your classmates.
View the official Fall 2024 Hullabaloo Hello Schedule below! You will receive more information regarding your orientation experience later this summer.
Please note: Residential students will be randomly assigned a Move-In date of either August 11, 12, or 13. You will be notified of this date by Housing and Residence Life later this summer. There will be a mandatory Wave Leader meeting the evening of your Move-In day. After this meeting, you can settle into your residence hall, enjoy dinner with your family, or attend the optional programs on your schedule. Families should plan to leave campus that night, however, as mandatory programming will resume the following morning. If you wish to spend time in New Orleans with your family, it is best to do so before Move-In.

As a signature experience of Hullabaloo Hello, you will venture beyond the Tulane bubble on an exciting, off-campus adventure with your Krewe! In New Orleans, a Krewe is a name given to a community of people who come together to celebrate the Mardi Gras season. In the spirit of New Orleans, you will experience this off-campus adventure with a community of fellow first-year students, peer leaders, and a staff member we’re calling your Hullabaloo Hello Krewe!
Each Krewe is named after an iconic street in New Orleans. Complete the Beyond the Bubble preference form below by ranking the eight Krewe options available. We will do our absolute best to accommodate your preferences, but, rest assured, each Krewe will offer an immersive and enriching exploration of the rich history and culture of New Orleans!

You can learn more about Beyond the Bubble in this month's New Student Module! Please refrain from submitting the preference form more than once.

The Newcomb-Tulane College Advising team is here to support you in a holistic approach to academic, career, and personal success. Every Newcomb-Tulane College student has a dedicated team of advisors available for one-on-one meetings to discuss academic and career interests and plans throughout their undergraduate career.
You will work with College Advising to finalize and submit your Fall 2024 schedule during a virtual advising session this summer. These meetings will take place between June 10-July 13. Students will be divided into small groups based on their intended major and work with a member of the College Advising team to get registered.
| |
Explore the link below to learn more about the process for class registration. In preparation for your upcoming virtual advising session, please be sure to complete the Pre-Advising Checklist found in this month’s New Student Module.

The Goldman Center for Student Accessibility is dedicated to promoting a campus atmosphere that accounts for individual differences and offers all Tulane students an inclusive and unrestricted college experience.
You can request DISABILITY-RELATED academic, dining, and housing accommodations through the Goldman Center. While there is no official "deadline" to request accommodations, please aim to submit your application as soon as possible. If you have submitted your application and documentation but haven't scheduled your welcome meeting, now is the time before classes start in August.
For more information regarding the accommodations request process, please reference this month's module or visit the links below!
