Dear Fenwick Families,

Fenwick High School is proud to announce a new leadership structure to strengthen the school for its second century.

Following the end of his current term, President Fr. Richard Peddicord, O.P., will remain at Fenwick, but will move to the newly-created position of Director of Dominican Mission, focusing on spirituality and presence on campus.

The new leadership arrangement will allow Fenwick to focus on its two critical missions: education in mind and spirit. The updated administrative organization will be led by the President, with support from the Director of Dominican Mission, Principal, CFO and Vice President of Institutional Advancement. We believe this will better align Fenwick with peer institutions locally and nationally.

As Fenwick undertakes its current growth and vitality study, with new principal Dr. John Finan ‘87 starting on July 1, and as the next stages of our Centennial Campaign and Priory Campus acquisition progress, the Board wanted to reorganize the leadership structure to best position Fenwick for its future.

We are very grateful to Fr. Peddicord for his service as president over the past 12 years and are thankful that he will stay on in this new position to ease the transition and ensure that the Dominican presence is as strong as ever in our great institution.

“It has been an honor to serve as President of Fenwick High School,” Fr. Peddicord said Tuesday when the new structure was announced to faculty and staff. “I am grateful for all that has been, and all that is to come. I’m eager to advance Fenwick’s mission by focusing my energy on the Dominican identity of our school and the spiritual formation of our students, families, alumni and friends.”

“Fr. Peddicord has been a steadfast leader at Fenwick,” added Fr. Louis Morrone, O.P., Prior Provincial of the Province of St. Albert the Great. “His help launching this new structure will reinforce the commitment to the four pillars of Dominican spirituality: Prayer, Study, Community and Preaching.”

As Fenwick approaches its centennial celebration in 2029, we believe this structure will reinforce the Dominican intellectual tradition and spirituality for future Friars.

Sincerely,
Matt McNicholas '96
