Allendale Township Satellite Clerk's Office at GVSU

GVSU Votes
The Allendale Township Satellite Clerk’s Office at GVSU will be a “one-stop shop” for students who would like to register and vote on campus this fall!
Services offered:
  • Students can register to vote for the first time.
  • Students can re-register in Allendale using your GV address if you are already registered somewhere else
  • Once registered in Allendale, you can request an absentee ballot
  • You can vote and submit your absentee ballot, in person
Which students can utilize the Satellite Clerk’s Office at GVSU?
  • Students who live on or off-campus in Allendale
  • Students who live in Campus View, Grand Valley Apartments, or the South Living Centers are not able to utilize services at this location. (If you live in these areas South of Pierce Street, you can go to the Georgetown Township Offices at 1515 Baldwin St. Jenison MI, 49428 to register, request an absentee ballot and / or vote your absentee ballot.)
  • All students can find more information about what’s on their ballot and where your polling location is at www.mi.gov/vote.

Hours of Operation: Beginning, 10/13/20 through 11/3/20, weekly hours will be as follows (with the WEEK OF 10/12 = REGISTRATION ONLY)
T/Th: 10:30am-5pm
W: 5pm-8pm
Sat: 10am-2pm
Additional Hours: 
Mon 11/2: 10am-2pm
Sat 10/31: 10am-6pm
T 11/3: 10am-5pm

Community Spotlight: Alternative Breaks

Charter Schools

The GVSU Charter Schools Office (CSO) and the GVSU Alternative Break Student Group (AB) are working together to facilitate mentoring of high school students enrolled in GVSU authorized charter schools. The AB mentors will provide mentoring to selected charter high school students around college preparedness.

MDOT

In partnership with the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT), Alternative Breaks has enrolled in their 'Adopt-A-Highway-Program.' Alternative Breaks members are in charge of cleaning up litter and beautifying both directions of their adopted highway: a portion of Lake Michigan Drive. 

Community Leaders

Alternative Breaks has 28 students actively engaged with the organization in a leadership role known as Community Leaders (CLs). They are in charge of providing awareness and support for a nonprofit or social cause through the aspects of education, fundraising, and service.

Mayor's Greening Initiative

October 9 - 10, 2020
The 2020 Mayor’s Greening Initiative will add 400 trees to the Garfield Park neighborhood in just one weekend! This year’s event will take place on Saturday, Oct. 10, with multiple ways for volunteers to safely be involved. 

2020 Election Panel

The Hauenstein Center is pleased to partner with GVSU's Department of Political Science to present a virutal panel discussion on the 2020 presidential election.
