‘Posture of the Heart:’ NC State Professor Christa Oliver Sends Message Through Dance

Christa Oliver, an associate teaching professor in the Department of Performing Arts and Technology, created a dance piece depicting the awful conditions at the Texas-Mexico border. She will remount this piece at the University of Buffalo this month.

- With the early sellout of all four performances of “When We Were Queens,” NC State LIVE and the North Carolina Museum of Art have added a show on Feb. 11 at 6:30 p.m.
- University Theatre’s “Jekyll & Hyde” opens in Stewart Theatre on Feb. 15 and runs through Feb. 18 for four shows only. Tickets are currently on sale.
- Three exhibitions are now open at the Gregg Museum of Art & Design: “Leading by Design,” “Selections from the Collections” and “The Art of John Mark Hall.”
- Carol Nix, the director of the NC State Crafts Center, recently launched a virtual class called “Calligraphy as Visual Poetry.”
- Two DASA programs are participating in this winter’s crowdfunding cycle. Check out the Crafts Center Wood Studio and Alternative Service Break fundraising campaigns and support your fellow DASA programs.
- Remind your students that submissions for the Student Art Sale are due March 31.
- Throughout February, Prevention Services will host several events for Eating Disorders Awareness Month.
- The Google Quota Resource site is live. NC State’s Google Quota implementation deadline is Oct. 25. Whether your account is already within the established 100 GB data storage quota for My Drive and Gmail, we encourage all DASA faculty and staff to review their Google storage usage and perform a digital spring cleaning!
- April 5 is the deadline for all technology purchases.
