Please join us for the 2018 Vanderbilt Global Health Case Competition. This trans-institutional event provides the opportunity for students to work together to develop solutions that solve global health problems. This year's case topic is Improving Health Outcomes Through Expanding Access to Emergency Medical Service in Rural Guyana. Zulfilkar Bux, M.D., Medical Director of Guyana Emergency Medical Service, Head of Emergency Department, Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation, Guyana, and Marlon Gentle, Chief Fire Officer, Guyana Fire Service, will be the keynote speakers for this year's competition.

| Vanderbilt researchers co-author study on mortality risk after survival of AIDS-defining events
In a study published recently in the Journal of the International AIDS Society, researchers focus on non-AIDS mortality among people on antiretroviral treatment in relatively high-income countries. In particular, they studied mortality among patients who have survived an AIDS-defining event (ADE) since starting their HIV/AIDS drug therapy. Click here to read the story in VUMC's Reporter.
