Day of Giving a Smashing Success!

On Wednesday, Feb. 22, Fenwick promoted 24 hours of giving to Raise the Shield. In response, nearly 800 members of the Fenwick community, not including current students, came together and raised more than $180,000 in just a single day!
Every incentive and challenge that was presented to the Fenwick community was seized and surpassed! Every decade of alumni participated, close to 100 percent of the student body gave to the effort, and the current and past parent communities sprang into action!
The top three alumni classes to participate were:
1st – Class of 2016 (28 donors)
2nd – Class of 1974 (22 donors)
3rd – Class of 1989 (14 donors)
A total of 331 alumni donors participated.
If you did not have a chance to make a gift to Raise the Shield last week, you can still make a gift to Fenwick by visiting this link.
Thank you, alumni, for all of your efforts.

Boys' Basketball team wins 3rd Straight CCL Title
Jacob Keller '17
On Friday, Feb. 17, the Fenwick Boys' Varsity Basketball Team beat out St. Joseph 65–58 in overtime to remain Chicago Catholic League champions. This win is the third CCL title the Friars have won in a row, and it marked their tenth straight win this season.
The team's head coach, Rick Malnati, was not at the game due to appendicitis, so Assistant Varsity Coach Staunton Peck stepped up to guide our boys to victory.
Fenwick is currently the number 1 seed in its sectional with a good shot at competing in the State Championship. The team wrapped up its regular season on Feb. 22 with a record of 24–4.
Faculty Focus – David Kleinhans
"Our kids are "Matthew 25" kids. They share wildly different interests in academics and extracurricular activities, but all seem to recognize that we have an obligation of service to each other and those who are less fortunate. I am frequently moved by seeing them interact with each other and their willingness to help those outside the Fenwick community."
